Tge new carrot and sweet potato tinned soup at Aldi is perfect on a rainy afternoon like today and gives you that wholesome homemade feeling tinned soups often miss. This flavour and their chicken and asparagus one are my favourites and at the moment they even have lobster bisque! If you are near an Aldi give them a go!

Today i attempted a recipe from the &#8216;Not quite Nigella&#8217; blog for JAM DOUGHNUT CUPCAKES. That deserved capital letters! These cakes are a vanilla cupcake with really simple ingredients and then jam hidden inside. The recipe uses buttermilk but i used soya milk and they still turned out lovely and very light. And the great thing is they are sooo much healthier than real doughnuts :-)

Its basically a salad but uses stale italian bread as a filler which soaks up the tomato and all the flavours are so fresh and very italian! We had it with Nigella&#8217;s mom&#8217;s meatball recipe and it was so good we had it two days in a row! Bottle of red went well too!
